By the sheer grace of Allah the Almighty, and with the approval of Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih V (may Allah be his Helper), this humble one was blessed with the opportunity to perform Waqf-e-Arzi in the Private Secretary Office (PS Office) from August 1 to 15, 2023. During this time, I was given different roles in the office, such as making summaries of letters, isolating multiple language letters, handling the responses given by beloved Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper), and many other tasks.
As I started my work in the PS Office, the first thing I was told was that no matter who wrote the letter—whether a child, non-Ahmadi, or even a letter that is difficult to read—it must be kept very safe because many times, Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) asks to provide the original letter. This made me realize how much these letters meant to beloved Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper).
Throughout my Waqf-e-Arzi in the PS Office, it reminded me of this verse of the Holy Quran:
“Which, then, of the favors of your Lord will you twain deny?” (55:52)
It was difficult and painful to see how many people are facing hardships in their lives. The majority of the letters I examined were from those who were facing difficulties and were in dire need of prayers from their Khalifa. One can only imagine that all these letters go through Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper), and it makes me wonder how he reads through all their problems, carries out his daily work, and meets many people every day with a smile on his face.
Furthermore, during my stay in Islamabad, this humble servant was extremely fortunate to offer prayers behind Huzoor-e-Anwar (may Allah be his Helper), have the honor of a Mulaqat with him, and witness a miracle from Allah the Almighty. This humble one was blessed to be a part of the Qafila from Islamabad to Baitul Futuh for the Friday Sermon. I was told by Private Secretary Sahib to request Major Mahmood Sahib for a ride to the Friday Prayers, as on that Friday, Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) would be leading prayers at the Baitul Futuh Mosque, which was at least a 40-minute journey from Islamabad. Although I knew there were not enough vehicles for all the workers, it was truly a miracle of Allah that when I visited him and asked for a ride, he came up to me and said:
“Go to the office; I have sent an extra vehicle for you.”
It was truly phenomenal to be in the company of beloved Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) and residing right next to the Mubarak Mosque, where I could see and pray behind Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) every day. The people in the UK were incredibly hospitable and kind, creating an amazing atmosphere. One day, while traveling with a member of Amila Hifazat to the grocery store, he opened his wallet and offered me his credit card. When I tried declining, he said something that truly shocked me:
“If you won’t use my card, how will you pray for me?”
In that moment, I truly realized the profound effect that Huzoor-e-Anwar (may Allah be his Helper) has on those fortunate enough to spend a lot of time in his close company.
During my time in Islamabad, I had a blessed opportunity to speak to many distinguished personalities and received many guidelines from them. On my last day of Waqf-e-Arzi, I went to meet Respected Abdul Majid Tahir Sahib, Additional Wakil-ut-Tabshir, and told him it was my last day of Waqf-e-Arzi and that I was going back tomorrow. He hugged me with teary eyes and said:
“خلافت کے ساتھ کبھی بے وفائی نہ کرنا…
حضور کی مربیان سے بڑی توقعات ہیں”
Never be disloyal to Khilafat … Huzoor (may Allah be his Helper) has great expectations from Murabbiyan.
In the end, it was only through the sheer grace and blessings of Allah the Almighty that this humble one was able to benefit from this golden opportunity. May Allah grant Huzoor-e-Anwar (may Allah be his Helper) a long and healthy life, and enable us all to fulfill his expectations. Ameen.
