Allah you made the sun radiant
And you made the moon lambent
So I stand here and wonder
How, in six days
The alternating day
To the alternating night
From the heavens to the earth
I observe but do not understand
You cause the trees to grow
But now the leaves have fallen
The cold wind blows
And the lakes are frozen
You gave life last spring
You cause death this winter
This sky, once blue
Is now gray and darkened
The sun now hides
Behind the ships of the sky
That throw white snow
Burying me
But Allah I know
That only you know
That which is best
So I leave my trust in thee, so
Let it rain, let it snow
Let it fall, let it grow
Let it be, as it may
For Allah’s will is best for me
